On Saturday, September 27, 2008, The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science will participate in the fourth annual Museum Day presented by Smithsonian Magazine. The Brogan Museum has fun activities, programs and specials on Admission only available on Museum Day!

Museum Day is a day when museums and cultural organization’s nationwide open their doors FREE of charge* to Smithsonian Magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors (*with Museum Day Card available from the Magazine and web site). A celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian’s Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the FREE-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, DC based properties.
In celebration of Museum Day, The Brogan Museum is also offering specials on Membership available now until September 27, 2008. Save $5 on your purchase of a FAMILY Level Membership OR save $5 and receive two FREE gifts (until quantity runs out)–one from Smithsonian Magazine and one from your friends at The Brogan Museum, with purchase of a SMITHSONIAN Level Membership. The Brogan Museum is also offering guests to take part in all Museum Day activities and programs at NO EXTRA CHARGE! “Our Smithsonian affiliation is one of our highlighted achievements as we celebrate our ten-year anniversary,” said Sabrina Johnson, Manager of Marketing and Corporate Membership for The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, “participating in Museum Day allows us to really showcase this affiliation, especially since we currently feature an exhibit made possible only through this relationship.” Featured exhibits at The Brogan Museum are OBJECTS OF DESIRE: Gems From The Smithsonian’s Permanent Collection, RAY BURGGRAF: Orbits and Horizons, and THE ROSWELL EXHIBIT.

Last year upwards of 100,000 people attended Museum Day nationwide—all fifty states plus Puerto Rico were represented by 651 participating Museums.
Attendees must present the Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Admission Card to gain FREE entry for visitor and a guest to participating institutions. The Museum Day Card is available in the September issue of Smithsonian Magazine, and a downloadable version is available (along with listings and links to other participating museums’ and sponsors’ sites) on Smithsonianmag.com/museumday.
